A Perfect Day For Elon Musk

One day at an upscale beach resort in Florida, Elon Musk helps a child who is not his own into a water tube and pushes them beyond the breaking waves.

“Hey,” says Elon Musk hanging off the outside of the water tube, “have you heard of the short story published in the New Yorker called ‘A Perfect Day For Bananafish’?”

The child shakes her head.

“I didn’t think so,” says the world’s richest man.  “It’s by J.D. Salinger.  He also wrote Catcher in the Rye.  Have you heard of that one?”

“I’m four,” says the child.

“That’s no excuse!” says Elon Musk.  “Let me tell you the story about the Bananafish.”

“No,” says the child.

“Oh, come on!” says Elon Musk, throwing a fit.

“No,” laughs the child.

Elon promptly pushes the water tube back to the beach and carries the child back to her drunk mother (who didn’t know her child was with him).

Some might surmise that Elon Musk is depressed and, possibly, unstable.
